About this work
A steel-hulled vessel marked 'КРАСИН' on its bow fills most of the composition, moored broadside with mooring lines crossing toward the foreground quay. Masts and rigging rise against a cloud-streaked sky, and a low shoreline is visible in the distance beyond calm open water.
Broad, confident strokes lay in the dark hull, cream superstructure and green waterline with minimal blending, while the sky is built from swift horizontal passes of white and blue. The economical, sketch-like handling and clear daylight give the ship a solid, workmanlike presence.
